Our Sun will be entering the plane of the Milky Way Galaxy [the Galactic Equator and the Ecliptic - or path of the sun - will cross each other] at 11:11:11 12/21/2012.
What makes this coming day so special, is that the alignment will be right along the plane of the entire Galaxy, something which only happens approximately once every 26,000 years. It will take 700-1400 years to cross that plane, so we will be in a most celestial position for some time to come.
The world is not ending, it is simply the beginning of a new cycle. Out with the old, in with the new.
Let the sunshine in.
